The film features the three leading characters from the prequel: Arya, Ajay and Geetha, with Allu Arjun reprising his role as the titular protagonist. While Arya dealt with a love triangle between the three characters, Arya 2 revolves around the friendship between Arya and Ajay, two orphans who met at an orphanage but were raised separately. Arya grows up to become a psychotic who is ready to sacrifice anything for the sake of Ajay, who becomes a businessman and despises Arya but pretends not to. Arya undergoes a transformation, joins Ajay's software company as an employee, and later attempts to rescue Geetha after she is kidnapped by her violent family members
